Mission
Statement
The sole purpose of
Victory Over Addiction International, Inc., MAC is to
provide a safe, secure well-maintained environment for the treatment of
chemically dependent persons. We respect our client's privacy.
Our intent is the enhancement of client dignity and improved quality of
living. VOAI provides various services in conjunction with supportive 12-step
environments that includes a combination of individual counseling, group
counseling, family counseling, chemical dependency and motivational
education, stress management education, life skills training, and
SUGGESTED
attendance at 12-Step meetings.
Our goal, through the introduction and utilization of the 12-Step
program for living, coupled with three-phase treatment, is to guide the
chemically dependent person to abstinence from all mood-altering drugs.
This is but a beginning. However, coupled with a commitment to a new way
of living, clients can look forward to a life of excellence.
Our belief is that the illness of chemical dependency is threefold in
nature; affecting the mind, body and spirit of each individual.
Therefore, our program is designed to treat the "whole person" along
with providing education and support for the family and significant
others in each client's life.
Our Philosophy
We are convinced
that addiction is a "Disease of the Human Spirit". However, it is
impossible to ignore biological, psychological, environmental, and
social components that impact the development and maintenance of
addictions.
Our experience has
shown that when the spiritual malady is addressed, we get better
mentally and physically. This does not mean we ignore the other aspects
of this illness in our treatment. Therefore, treatment is based on
spiritual principles that treat the "whole person".
Abstinence is the
first step of the process in assisting our clients to create a new life
of excellence. This can only be accomplished one day at a time and is
attainable for anyone willing to make a
commitment to take the
action necessary.
